Happy New Year! Got the blog stats in and they were mostly good; most of them were up. My general working theory is that it's all weather related. People are on google a lot in december, therefore they land on my blogs a lot in december, and it has nothing to do with what they are actually looking for is something I offer. It's more like they're clicking randomly through options in case one of them offers what they want. And in december, much of what they want is shopping-related.

Not that I had many sales; I had a few, but they also were most likely not coming from the blogs, but rather from some other random source. Someone somewhere liked my crotchety old great-great-grandfather's realistic diatribe and story of growing up as a pioneer, and they spread the word, and he, eloquent writer that he was, outsold me by maybe eight to one. But hey, I'm out there on the blogs, being me, and if they don't want to buy it I can't blame them.

It's a busy life. Puppy's on my lap giving his toy a bath. I'm basking in relatively good blog numbers, and, overall I went into the new year with the best book ratings I possibly could. I've been working hard on them, to the detriment of other things, so I find it satisfying. I can look at my tab sheet, and believe me I do, and I just study it, and make strategies to keep working on those ratings. It's good to have them, and keep track, and wonder what people are doing, cruising around, checking out what I have to say.
