August blog report
It seemed to me that the blog numbers drifted down a little, but the averages were still overwhelmingly up, probably because as the stunning June works its way through, and the less-than-stunning April falls out, May-June-July is better than April-May-June. There was a steady rise there: May was really good, June even better, and so in my opinion averages are looking good.
I don't delude myself though. There is no indication that anyone sees these blogs and turns around and buys anything I write. It may be good for my reputation, or name recognition, but I'm not sure it's good for either, or is even related. I don't after all plaster my name all over the blogs. I don't even plaster book ads all over them.
In general I am not doing so well with the general goals I've set out for myself, like revising the templates and getting the museum going. There is now more pressure to do the museum because Google announced it will de-activate accounts that are not logged into more or less regularly and lots of these accounts have not been logged in for a while. So I'm actually at risk of losing some pages if I don't get up there and do womething with them pretty quickly. Announcing a museum would be the first step. I have a good web design - a web picture that my dad took - and really there isn't much to it but some work.
I have to credit Blogger in spite of the fact that it gives me some grief sometimes. In general it has been here, has been free, and has never let me down. Once YouTube canceled out everything I had on my SIU email address and I lost some really good movies, because I was unable to back them up in time, or find them in order to put them on a new e-mail address account. But Blogger has never done that to me. I stand by my original statement that the three best things about the internet are Blogger, Boggle, and Google.
