Dec. 1 blog report
Blog traffic was down slightly; at least the three-month averages were down, and that I think reflected the fact that the middle of August and September were absolutely fabulous, and everything else is just kind of normal. Why would September be so great? I have no idea. But I acually had over 58000 hits on my main blog in that month, and lots of them were like that in the sense that they were maybe twenty times the usual; that blog is lucky to get two thousand, generally. And this month was more like the usual: 2855. That's actually pretty good. But since we are no longer counting August anymore, and next month we won't be counting September, I predict a couple of down months.
The general theory is that it is related to shopping. So, there should be a few more hits this month as the shopping drive picks up. We'll see. I actually have no idea.
Another theory is that it's all in the title. Bear with me. My main blog is called out there. It's been around long enough that it comes up early in searches. If you're scrolling around and you see a page with thirty choices, and then there's one called "out there," are you going to click it? Somehow 58000 did one month; I still can't explain that. but say you have a few thousand out there who stroll like that, then the answer is psychological.
