Jan. 1 blog report
Blog averages were down, but it's really more a case of an explosive September than anything, and I haven't quite explained that really.
This month's average put OCT, NOV, & DEC together as I just gathered DEC numbers. What we lost was SEPT numbers since I got those OCT 1. So SEPT OCT & NOV were way bigger than OCT NOV & DEC and the averages are down. But if you look carefully OCT NOV & DEC each get slightly bigger (as you might expect if you believe it's all shopping-driven). But by far the vast outlier was a huge SEPT. I mean it was so huge that it dwarfed everything.
For example, my dad's site, Jim Leverett's photography, is pretty sleepy. Its numbers, SEPT-DEC, were 703/29/14/19. The last three are in line with what usually happens. What's unusual is, where did 703 come from? My best explanation is that almost all blogs were put on the carousel and got lots of random visitors in Sept. This means that even people who are not into photography would have stopped by, taken a look, and clicked on. It would explain. it, and I don't have a better explanation.
I'm having no problem using them; I'm using them a lot. I'm still having problems getting around to updating templates, cleaning them up, etc. Needs work. I lay that out as a goal.
I'm using two to mull over things in my life: cloudcroft journal - what happened in Cloudcroft??? and, Tom Leverett's music page: what's it like when a musician loses his hearing? It's not pretty. But I'm hoping to lay out the truth. Someone may get something out of it.
