Quite the Lion - March

I'm glad it's March, because it's been a long winter. It's cold and blustery, very lionish, but at least it's warmer.

Blog visits were down a little, I think, but mostly what I noticed was a certain kind of stability settling in - in other words, averages (three months, would be Dec. 1, Jan. 1, Feb. 1) were similar to the previous averages, so a steadiness that I haven't seen before. Or a steadiness that a mammoth September totally disrupted.

When I report on the blogs I report on my impression of whether this month was in general higher or lower than usual, but also a comparison of the monthly average to the previous monthly average, which in this case would compare the added month (Feb., measured yesterday) to the dropped month (Nov., measured Dec. 1). It's a little unfair if you consider all traffic to be shopping driven, which should make November a banner month. But I'm also fascinated by how certain blogs come to life at certain times and how regular infusion (of my words, or my posts) keeps them performing better in the search engines. I think the search that matters is Google, but since blogs are google, they tend to do very well. And I'm grateful.

But, I'm thinking of decoupling a little from the big ones: Amazon, Google, Facebook, those are the three I'm most dependent on. Might back off a little.

This has been helped by a giant computer crash. My little everyday computer just went out, and even a battery is not fixing it, which means it will be out for about two weeks by the time it's ready maybe at the end of this week, and I hope to pick it up at the computer store. My phone is the only reliable source of anything these days; it doesn't get FB and in fact neither of the other computers are doing very well on that either. That's because FB got suspicious but in one case I couldn't see the "verify" game due to old firefox on ancient computer, and in another case couldn't get at my email where it could be verified also. So no FB for a while. That'll set ya back!!!

The two ancient computers, Silver and Horse, are both sputtering and that's tragic becauee they have Word and I still do my writing on Word. I am on Silver now. But Silver keeps going on the blink, and it's exasperating. Horse has a charging problem; doesn't charge consistently. It's dead and I'm not even sure I can charge it.

Such is life. I await a fixed computer.
